Where Dreams Happen

LCD Entertainment was born from a collective vision, established in 2021 through a partnership between its founders and inaugural roster of artists. The initial spark came from founder Slater Colt, who joined with co-founders Marc-Edwin and Carl-Edwin Rigaud to build the foundation. The label was truly brought to life, however, by the shared belief and creative energy of its first artists: MARCTHEPROPHET!, Lydae Jurvel, Top Ramiin, and RubbaBand Shan. What began as a movement in Tampa, Florida, has since grown into a creative hub based in Atlanta, Georgia. Today, LCD is more than a company; it's a creative ecosystem built on the principle that artists are not just clients, but co-creators in a movement to redefine the music industry through genuine connection and shared success.

Our Story

What started as a combination of individual journeys became a unified connection that brought us together in ways that only God could have foreseen. A lot of us connected in 2020, both prior to and after the Pandemic Lockdown, either through music functions in our hometown of Tampa, Florida or through mutual friends that introduced to us to one another.

LCD Entertainment Story

We began as a group of friends who just wanted to write and share music together. Then one day, LuieLG had asked Slater, "When do we start the next Young Money?" Instantly, chills ran down Slater's spine as he thought to himself, "Why not now?"

From that moment, a 4-Year Plan began. The mission was to develop the team as independent artists with a focus on self-recording, producing, mixing, and maintaining autonomy within a group setting—a targeted vision Slater had from day one. The team officially joined together on January 1st, 2021, determined to hone our craft and synergy outside of our everyday lives.

The unity and drive that have held us together weren't built easily. They were forged through countless adventures and challenges that we overcame by communicating and refusing to give in to our individual fears. This resilience led us to create a series of shows in Tampa, Florida, in partnership with Dark Door Spirits, which resulted in a rapid succession of sold-out crowds and our first true fans.

LCD Entertainment Story

In April 2021, our first full-roster LCD show drew a crowd of 60 people, mostly friends and family. By June, just two months later, our attendance doubled to 120 for the release of RubbaBand Shan's 'Shan Soul' EP and Slater Colt's 25th birthday. We were invited onto local podcasts, and a buzz began to build. For our third show in September 2021, just nine months after forming, we drew 200 fans. It was there that we revealed our newly discovered name: LCD Entertainment.

From that point on, we knew we had what it takes. The next step was to perfect our music and build a solid image for each artist and for the label itself. In July of 2022, Slater, RubbaBand Shan, Top Ramiin, Lydae Jurvel, and other members moved to Atlanta, Georgia, to continue growing and exploring new territories.

While the team has evolved since those early days, the vision remains the same. We are ready and excited to embrace the world that awaits with new ideas, new music, and much grander adventures.
